Summative Evaluation
Summative Evaluation is Examines the impacts, effects, and/or outcomes of the object or process. Data collected summarizes the project by describing what happened subsequent to the delivery of the program or technology.
This evaluation focus on :
- Deciding the object influenced the outcome or
- The overall impact factors beyond the immediate target outcomes
- Estimate the relative costs regarding the object
- Outcome evaluations
- Impact evaluation
- Semi-structured and open-ended questionnaires
- Cost-effectiveness
Outcome Evaluation
- Investigate whether the program or technology caused demonstrable effects on specifically defined target outcomes
- Formal assessment tasks
- Direct observation (combined with think-aloud, and structured responses)
- Protocol analysis (based on learners interaction with the exercise)
Impact Evaluation
- Assesses the overall or net effects of the program or technology as a whole
- User’s self-reporting
- Post-hoc comments gained from querying, think-aloud, and interviews
Semi - Structured Questionnaires Evaluation
- Ascertaining user satisfaction with the materials
- Audit trail of users’ interactions
Cost - Effectiveness Evaluation
- Address questions of efficiency by standardizing outcomes in terms of users dollar costs and values
